Bird Box Bonanza

This week I started work on a fantastic new project designing sculptural bird boxes in collaboration with pupils at ten Kirklees schools (inspired by this project). So far I have had the pleasure of working with 88 children and three teachers, working through a variety of ideas and approaches in the creatinging of wildlife themed characters which will form the basis of the Bird Box designs. The boxes will be exhibited as part of this years Festival of Light in Huddersfield - watch this space for further updates…

Junkbots in Leeds with March of the Robots

Yesterday saw a full on day of robot making madness as I was invited by the March of the Robots Team to lead a Junkbot making workshop as part of Leeds Den Fest . In and amongst a mini city of cardboard dens and structures a dedicated team of robot technicians (mostly family groups) were hard at work breathing new life into interesting piles of junk. Great robot making support came from Anna Connor and Joel Standeven. All the wonderful photos are from Lizzie Coombes.

Cardboard Cyclists at Berry Brow School

I was invited to work with the whole school at Berry Brow over an 8 day period in making a series of larger than life cardboard cyclists to celebrate Le Tour de France coming through the locality. I only managed a few pics, but hopefully you get a flavour of what the pupils made.

Under 5s Creative Sessions at Experience Barnsley

Over the past few weeks Dan Mallaghan and I have been working in the Learning Lab at Experience Barnsley Museum and Discovery Centre, delivering regular Monday Morning Creative Sessions for under 5s and their Carers. 'Chatting with the Fauna' - Workshops
