iCollaborate - Markmaking in an Early Years Setting

Today was day one of a fantastic new project at Littletown J.I.N. School in Liversage. The focus for the project is mark-making with nursery and reception age children using a variety of approaches and media. The plan was to ease into the project by setting out my stall and creating a number of images to hook the children into further activity. This plan worked well for approximately 3 minutes. I was joined instantly by a group of enthusiastic young artist who both worked independently and collaborated with me on a number of pieces. Below are a few shots I managed to fire off amidst the organised chaos! A fantastic day and more to come tomorrow....

Last Day at Rowley Lane

And so today saw the end of a great project at Rowley Lane School, working with two wonderful Year 3 classes... we have been on quite a journey, from continuous line drawings, to collaborative mirror drawing, to negative space, whole class collaboration and large scale cardboard works! Also following a teacher twilight session it seems as though the whole school have explored many of the themes that I introduced! I am very happy. Great kids, great staff, great school, wonderful project!

Reinwood Junior School - Transitions

Here are a few images from a great drawing and iPad painting project with Year 6 pupils at Reinwood Junior School in Huddersfield. We started by exploring image-making and mark-making on paper, to create images of self, followed by a full day of iPad painting. We were looking at self portraits now, and portraits of an imagined self in the future.... Amazing work!!
